Principal Scientist, Discovery Separation Sciences

Role: Principal Scientist leading Discovery Chemistry Separation Sciences, providing expertise in chromatography (HPLC, SFC) and analytical workflows across small molecules, peptides, and emerging modalities. Objectives: oversee purification and analytical capabilities, support drug discovery programs, and advance separation technologies. Responsibilities: serve as a scientific leader in chromatography, guide complex purification workflows, develop and implement innovative laboratory technologies, and manage scientific personnel. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Medicinal Chemistry, Analytical Sciences, and IT to optimize workflows, infrastructure, and capability strategies. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field with 8+ years of industry experience or equivalent with MS/BS and more extensive experience; extensive expertise in chromatographic purification, analytical separations, and supporting multiple modalities in drug discovery. High-value: experience with high-throughput workflows, laboratory automation, informatics, and a track record of technological innovation in separation sciences; leadership in cross-site scientific collaborations; and external scientific engagement through publications or patents. Work setup: hybrid, based in Boston with approximately 10% travel.
