Responsibilities:
- Provide quantitative analysis/consultation to drug discovery teams (embedded or advisory)
- Develop and apply mechanistic and empirical models to characterize compound activity and inform structure-activity relationships
- Translate pharmacological data into actionable recommendations for medicinal chemistry, biology, and translational colleagues
- Mentor junior scientists on analytical methods, modeling, and data communication
- Represent Screening & Compound Profiling in cross-functional/cross-site settings; contribute pharmacological input to strategy
Education Requirement:
- Ph.D. in pharmacology, biochemistry, biophysics, or closely related field + 10 years relevant experience
Required Experience/Skills:
- Extensive drug discovery experience (industry preferred) with impact across multiple programs/therapeutic areas
- Expertise in quantitative pharmacology: dose-response analysis, enzyme kinetics, receptor binding theory, mechanistic modeling
- Strong math foundation (calculus, ODEs, applied statistics)
- Exceptional communication; established scientific reputation (publications/presentations)
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Scientific computing proficiency (Python and/or R)
- Experience with hit-finding/screening and assay development/optimization/validation
- Familiarity with molecular/cell biology and quantitative interpretation of imaging, RNA-seq/DRUG-seq, proteomics, and mass spectrometry
