Role: Principal Scientist in Animal Genetic Engineering for Antibody Discovery at Johnson & Johnson, focused on designing transgenic mouse models to improve antibody identification against challenging targets like membrane proteins and GPCRs. Responsibilities: develop and propose genetic engineering strategies, partner with CROs for model creation using CRISPR and other technologies, test and validate models in antibody discovery workflows, and lead cross-functional collaborations to optimize immune responses and antibody quality. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field; 3+ years post-graduate experience; expertise in B cell biology, mouse genetics, CRISPR, and antibody discovery methods; proficiency in immunological assays such as flow cytometry and B cell sorting; experience managing external partners preferred. High-Value: focus on transgenic models for difficult therapeutic targets, involvement in in vivo antibody discovery, and combination of genome engineering, immunology, and biopharma discovery platforms. Work setup: based in Cambridge, MA or Spring House, PA, with responsibilities spanning model development, validation, and collaboration with CROs.
