Role Summary

Principal at Sanofi Ventures supports generation of new investment ideas, leads and conducts due diligence, and manages existing investments. The role collaborates with senior investment professionals, R&D, advisors, and management teams, with opportunities to lead deals and hold board observer or director seats as the portfolio grows.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed analytical and due diligence support on new investment opportunities.
• Work with technical and business teams to evaluate investment opportunities; solicit input and advice from senior investment professionals, R&D, advisors, and others as appropriate regarding prioritization and selection of investment candidates.
• Actively lead due diligence process, including calls with internal and external KOLs including physicians, scientists, and other consultants; perform market analysis and build therapeutic market and financial models. Support and ultimately lead deal negotiations with management teams on companies of interest.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree; Masters/MD/PhD preferred (for those without industry experience, an MBA can be considered).
• Required: Minimum of 5 years of relevant Life-Sciences industry experience with a preference for at least 4 years at a venture capital firm with direct investment analysis and due diligence experience.
• Required: Experience could also include a top-tier investment bank, healthcare-focused consulting, or a biopharma company in R&D or Business Development functions.
• Preferred: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Preferred: Team player, hands-on attitude, willingness to be actively involved in operations.

Education
