Associate Director, Biotherapeutics & Genetic Medicine (BGM) AI/ML Partnerships

Key Responsibilities:
- Co-develop and champion an external AI/ML strategy aligned to AbbVie’s biotherapeutics discovery processes and drug pipeline (long- and short-term).
- Track AI/ML innovation; produce a bimonthly competitive intelligence report in coordination with internal teams.
- Perform technical due diligence and benchmarking of external partner AI/ML platforms for fit to BGM strategy.
- Coordinate with internal business groups to align collaboration agreements with BGM value proposition.
- Manage external partnerships, document activities, and drive projects toward impact.
- Communicate AI/ML partnership impact internally and externally (e.g., conferences).
- Mentor leaders/team members; build a pipeline of AI/ML champions.

Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, or related field; typically 16+ (BS), 14+ (MS), or 8+ (PhD) years of experience.
- Cross-functional leadership and ability to build trust-based partnerships with senior leaders.
- Deep technical experience in machine learning (technical diligence).
- Prior external partnerships and competitive landscape experience in major pharma/biotech.
- Strong problem-solving; ability to create structure from ambiguity.
- Executive communication and stakeholder management bridging technical and business perspectives.
- Hiring/people management and career development experience.
