Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement a high-throughput siRNA screening platform using automated liquid-handling systems.
- Serve as subject matter expert for siRNA screening experimental design, execution, and data interpretation.
- Lead research and mentor scientists to advance siRNA optimization (sequence design and novel chemical modifications) across multiple programs.
- Generate hypotheses/proposals, improve screening workflows, and evaluate emerging siRNA technologies.
- Communicate with internal siRNA teams and cross-functional collaborators to identify needs and support platform and program advancement.
- Manage and develop a team of 2β3 scientists with technical guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day leadership.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or related field; typically 6+ years (PhD), 12+ years (MS), or 14+ years (BS) relevant biotech/pharma experience.
- Track record in siRNA design, in vitro screening, and potency assays using automated high-throughput platforms (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan).
- Experience with qRT-PCR, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
- Demonstrated cell culture experience (maintenance of diverse cell lines).
- Prior experience leading siRNA platform initiatives or portfolio programs.
- Plus: animal study design and downstream assays to evaluate genetic medicines.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to present complex data to internal/external stakeholders.
- Plus: people management experience.
