Clinical Research and Development
This role will provide technical oversight for external manufacturing partners encompassing drug substance and intermediate manufacturing. The individual will handle direct research and/or project activities and professional development of a group of scientists within their area of expertise by effectively mentoring, guiding and/or supervising scientific personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Function as a principle investigator, generating original technical ideas and research/development strategies.
- Apply creative βout of the boxβ thinking to solve difficult problems and champion new technologies to achieve project goals.
- Independently own project science within area of expertise on one or more project teams.
- Make significant contributions to project team through lab-based and other work environment activities.
- Generate new scientific proposals; anticipate and critically evaluate scientific/regulatory advances or competitive threats and respond with appropriate new strategies.
- Serve as an expert in discipline within the company (and possibly externally).
- Act as primary author of publications, presentations, regulatory documents and/or primary inventor of patents.
- Present at leading scientific conferences.
- Mentor/supervise one or more team members; evaluate performance and ensure effective team performance.
- Conceive, execute and communicate novel multi-disciplinary research/development strategies.
- Lead own project and contribute scientific insights to multiple other projects.
Qualifications:
- BS (typically 14+ years), MS (typically 12+ years), or PhD (typically 6+ years) in relevant scientific area.
- Demonstrated ability as principle investigator.
- Creative thinking to solve technical problems and champion new technologies.
- Recognized expert in discipline.
- Demonstrated success as primary author of publications/presentations/regulatory documents and/or primary inventor of patents.
- Strong scientific communication and presentation skills (leading scientific conferences).
