Role: Senior toxicologist supporting discovery-stage preclinical safety programs across therapeutic areas within AbbVie. The primary objective is to design and execute safety assessments leveraging in silico, in vitro, and in vivo tools to facilitate pipeline progression. Responsibilities include developing safety strategies tailored to projects, deploying in vitro models and NAMs for safety evaluation, and integrating data to guide decision-making. The candidate will communicate findings across cross-functional teams, identify and resolve safety hurdles, and may mentor team members. Qualifications: PhD or equivalent with 6+ years (Masterโ€™s with 12+ years, Bachelorโ€™s with 14+ years) of experience; extensive expertise in interpreting in vitro safety data; strong independent research and scientific communication skills. Preferred: leadership experience, DABT certification, and experience in cross-functional pharma project teams.
