We seek a highly motivated candidate to join Cell Line Development (CLD), as part of a team focused on development, innovation, and execution of automated clone selection processes, high throughput data analytics and data management solutions. The person in this role will work in a high-performing, fast-paced collaborative environment supporting end-to-end development of recombinant CHO cell lines and platform optimization for our future CHO expression platforms. Work will directly support the advancement of projects in Sanofi’s biologics pipeline.
The candidate will be a key contributor in operationalizing CLD automation and high-throughput workflows in support of fast-paced development projects in Sanofi’s pipeline. Specifically, responsibilities will be development and implementation of automated clone selection, expansion, and screening processes as well as contributing directly to CLD data management and data analytics workflows.

Main Responsibilities
- Operate automated liquid handling (Hamilton) and mini bioreactor (Ambr15) systems and perform sampling and analysis of CHO cell cultures, to help select candidate clones for CLD projects
- Establish and maintain connectivity of laboratory equipment with existing CLD data management solutions
- Gather and organize large and complex CLD data sets, perform relevant analysis
- Contribute to the development and implementation of data management solutions for clone screens and automation systems operated within CLD
- Contribute to the design, execution and analysis of studies to narrow selection of candidate clones
- Directly support end-to-end automation of CLD workflows and platform optimization
- Prepare reports, presentations, and data sets to effectively communicate results, progress, and plans
- Interface and collaborate closely with CLD colleagues as well as partner teams (such as USP, and Cell Science & Technology)
- Plan and execute experiments, manage concurrent work assignment, analyze, and interpret the results and propose next steps
- Contribute to lab organization, reagent tracking and other tasks as determined appropriate
- Compliance with all applicable regulations, ensure that work performed is conducted in a safe and compliant manner, maintenance of proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
About You
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, BioEngineering, Cell Biology or related field with > 2 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in aforementioned field with > 4 years relevant experience
- 2+ years experience working with automated laboratory processes
- Strong technical background in mammalian cell culture
- Knowledge of automation programming language application and method development
- Experience using tools such as R, JMP, Python, Matlab, etc.
- Self-motivated with attention to detail and excellent organization, time-management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Passion, knowledge of and experience in laboratory automation and database development
- Experience with high throughput laboratory automation equipment (e.g. Hamilton, Beacon, or AMBR)
- Experience in suspension culture of CHO cell lines (cell passaging, sterile operations, etc)
- Experience in database management (eg Biovia Pipeline Pilot)
- Experience working with biological registration systems (eg Genedata Biologics, iLab) or LIMS in general
- Demonstrated ability to work as member of a team
- Flexibility and willingness to expand skill set and responsibilities
- Able to learn quickly and excel in a past-faced highly cooperative team environment, multitask, adaptability and positive attitude
