Principal Reliability Engineer responsibilities:
- Ensure performance of production equipment by minimizing failures and downtime.
- Support Facilities Production, Utilities, and HVAC teams by evaluating plant equipment reliability and assessing alternative options.
- Lead reliability improvements such as Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to proactively support planned and predictive replacement.
- Implement site reliability policies; ensure planned routines are correctly specified and critical spares are available for maintenance execution.
- Troubleshoot sophisticated plant equipment and associated system issues; identify and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends.
- Lead engineering root cause analysis and implement long-term engineering solutions to prevent reoccurrence; manage key metrics (Run Hours, Mean Time Between Failure (MBTF), Cost to repair).
- Conduct internal audits and periodic reviews of GMP activities to ensure compliance.

- Have hands-on experience with production equipment and how it operates.
- Can interpret P&IDs, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications for maintenance and repairs.
- Experience writing and executing test plans and technical evaluations for change control documentation.

Requirements:
- BS/BA in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical).
- Experience:
- Principal Reliability Engineer: 8+ years
- Staff Reliability Engineer: 10+ years (level determined by qualifications).
