Role Summary

Principal Product Manager, Developer and AI Platform based preferably in Santa Clara, CA; remote consideration is available in all states/cities within the United States. Focus on defining and building the next generation of a surgical intelligence platform to empower healthcare products, addressing real-world MedTech challenges, and driving adoption of platform tools across the surgical ecosystem. Collaborates with software engineers, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, data engineers, and program managers to develop a scalable edge-to-cloud platform with responsible AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior leadership to drive platform vision and roadmap, aligning with data, AI/ML and business strategies.
  • Identify market trends, competitive dynamics, and client needs to inform platform direction and long-term planning.
  • Clearly articulate platform strategy, technical concepts, and business impact for stakeholders at varying levels of technical depth.
  • Synthesize internal and external developer needs into critical user journeys and platform requirements.
  • Define detailed platform requirements, acceptance criteria, and success metrics; ensure successful delivery.
  • Design cloud-native architectures and enterprise applications on platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Own the product definition of the AI/ML stack for hybrid cloud environments including sovereign clouds.
  • Lead grooming sessions and collaborate with data science and engineering teams to evaluate options, guide trade-offs, and make decisions.
  • Drive execution with technology partners, balancing build, buy, and partner decisions.
  • Ensure platform capabilities support model risk management, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability across the platform organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization, including data scientists, engineers, quality, security, and legal partners.

Qualifications

  • Required: 8+ years of product management experience in AI/ML, with a focus on model development, deployment, and monitoring in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required: 3+ years building internal tools and reusable services to improve developer experience and support digital products.
  • Required: High degree of technical understanding to collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and AI/ML practitioners.
  • Required: Deep understanding of ML/LLM Ops principles and the AI development lifecycle.
  • Required: Strong technical acumen to translate complex concepts into clear product requirements.
  • Required: Proven track record delivering AI/ML products from ideation to launch with engineers, data scientists, and other PMs.
  • Required: Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present technical content to non-technical audiences and drive business impact.
  • Required: Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Required: Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, APIs, and data pipelines.
  • Preferred: Experience on digital platforms or ecosystems, particularly in healthcare.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AI/ML development workflows involving clinical, imaging, or video data.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, HL7, FHIR, DICOMweb).
  • Preferred: Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where platform strategy evolves rapidly.
