Responsibilities:
- Execute and continuously refine category enablement strategies, tools, and processes to improve sourcing effectiveness and business outcomes.
- Develop/optimize analytics and reporting frameworks for category performance, supplier engagement, and value delivery.
- Partner to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities; prioritize by impact, feasibility, and readiness.
- Lead alignment of category processes with procurement systems/workflows; provide category management subject-matter leadership.
- Support adoption of procurement policies/procedures/systems via education and training; address change resistance with data-driven insights.
- Create and maintain standardized templates, playbooks, and toolkits (strategy, supplier segmentation, sourcing execution).
- Facilitate knowledge sharing; serve as an expert in category management methodologies.
- Guide sourcing events, supplier onboarding, and supplier relationship management; advise on complex initiatives.
- Support onboarding/training of new category managers; mentor peers.
- Ensure consistent, transparent recognition/reporting of financial value delivered; partner with Finance.
- Lead initiatives for category planning, supplier performance management, stakeholder engagement; champion continuous improvement.
- Support cross-functional initiatives (e.g., supplier diversity, sustainability, innovation, risk) as needed.
- Promote strategic sourcing techniques; represent category management in governance/transformation forums.

Qualifications (Minimum):
- Principal Procurement Analyst: BS (life sciences or business) + 10+ years procurement/sourcing (or 8+ years with MS).
- Associate Director: BS (life sciences or business) + 12+ years procurement/sourcing (or 10+ years with MS); plus 5+ years leading/growing teams.
- Strong strategic sourcing best practices; project/operations skills; metrics development; general GxP knowledge; ERP (SAP) and MS Excel/PowerPoint/Project.

Preferred:
- Master’s (life sciences or business); relevant certifications (NAPM/APICS for Principal; CPIM-APICS and/or CPM for Associate Director); extensive stakeholder/RFx/cross-functional leadership experience; involvement in purchasing professional organizations.

Job Location:
- Durham, NC (hybrid; at least 3 days/week in office).
