Role: Principal Opto-Mechanical Engineer leading optical component and system design, validation, and optimization within Alcon's R&D. Responsibilities: oversee multiple projects, conduct advanced research on light behavior, ensure designs meet high-precision and regulatory standards, and collaborate cross-functionally on optical solutions. Involved in design, analysis, prototyping, testing, documentation, and design transfer activities for ophthalmic medical devices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience in medical device opto-mechanical engineering; proficiency in CAD (CREO/SolidWorks), optical design tools (ZEMAX, Code V), FEA (ANSYS), and familiarity with design controls and risk management in regulated environments. Preferred: expertise in ophthalmic imaging systems, familiarity with MATLAB/LabView, experience with manufacturing automation, and domain knowledge in Cataract, Vitreo-Retinal, or Refractive Surgery devices.
