About The Role
The Principal, IT Engineering Enablement - AI leads enterprise-wide initiatives to define, deliver, and mature Neurocrine’s core AI/ML platforms, accelerating adoption of secure, scalable, and governed AI capabilities. Partners with Engineering, Data, Cybersecurity, Tech Enablement & Adoption, Compliance, and business stakeholders to architect platform strategy, own the AI services roadmap, and orchestrate multi-team execution.
Your Contributions
- Own AI/ML platform strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle (model orchestration, RAG pipelines, embeddings services, prompt governance, vector search, model performance monitoring).
- Evaluate, select, and integrate foundation models, third-party AI services, and emerging technologies.
- Define platform requirements, success metrics, technical capabilities, and prioritization.
- Develop ROI models for AI use cases.
- Serve as primary AI technical SME; advise on AI feasibility, risks, and architectural alignment.
- Lead Responsible AI governance framework (council facilitation, policy creation, risk assessments, guardrails).
- Define operational readiness and auditability criteria for AI-enabled solutions.
- Drive end-to-end execution (requirements, dependencies, engineering coordination, release readiness, enterprise rollout); reinforce Agile/Scrum.
- Establish and monitor platform KPIs (availability, performance, adoption, SLOs, usage, business impact).
- Partner to support onboarding/training for new AI capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field (or equivalent).
- PMP certification (or in progress) strongly preferred.
- 10+ years relevant IT experience (ideally pharma/regulated environment).
- Working knowledge of enterprise AI components: RAG, embeddings, LLM orchestration/evaluation, prompt governance, model performance monitoring; foundation models, vector databases, third-party AI services, AI safety/responsible AI.
- Experience delivering automation/integration frameworks and reusable services.
- Knowledge of telemetry/observability/SLOs, security/privacy, and platform governance (API lifecycle, versioning, access policies, auditability).
- Ability to define multi-year roadmaps and measurable KPIs; evaluate emerging tech; drive complex multi-team programs; influence without authority; strong written/verbal/executive communication; Agile/Scrum delivery and risk mitigation; translate ambiguous needs into roadmaps; data-driven and metrics/telemetry-driven.
