Principal Engineer, Enterprise Data Integration / Associate Director

Role: Principal Engineer, Enterprise Data Integration, leading design, implementation, and operation of Xenon’s enterprise data integration and middleware capabilities. Responsibilities: develop scalable, secure data flows across platforms such as ERP, CRM, clinical systems, and research databases; evaluate and govern integration tools like Informatica, Boomi, MuleSoft, Snowflake; establish standards, data governance, and support data models for analytics and AI/ML; ensure compliance with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR; oversee support, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data pipelines; collaborate cross-functionally with IT, research, clinical, and external partners; provide technical leadership and mentorship; support regulated systems validation and change control. Qualifications: bachelor’s or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related; 7-10+ years in enterprise data integration, middleware, or cloud data platforms; hands-on experience with integration/data tools (Informatica, MuleSoft, Snowflake, etc.); knowledge of regulated industry standards and systems such as ERP, Veeva, EDC, LIMS, clinical repositories; strong communication, leadership, and project management skills. Preferred: experience in life sciences or biopharma, GxP validation, master data management, and vendor management. Work setup: hybrid in Needham, MA, with some international travel required.
