Principal Data Scientist, Data and AI Convergence

Role: Principal Data Scientist leading enterprise AI/ML transformation within AbbVie's R&D functions. Responsibilities: identify systemic gaps in data convergence, design and implement scalable AI/ML workflows, and drive organizational change to embed advanced analytics into R&D decision-making. Lead development of production-ready AI/ML solutions, oversee cross-functional collaborations with R&D, IT, and scientific teams, and establish best practices for AI governance and workflow automation. Qualifications: PhD in a quantitative field or Master's with extensive expertise; 4-5+ years deploying enterprise AI/ML solutions; proven leadership of large-scale data initiatives; deep proficiency in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, generative AI, and relevant platforms (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.); strong programming skills in Python/R; experience with MLOps, cloud platforms, and data architecture. Preferred: experience in pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development, or healthcare analytics; knowledge of regulatory standards and data standards (CDISC, OMOP).
