Principal Controls Engineer, AbbVie Inc

Key Responsibilities:
- Acts as the technical expert for Automation Applications, Vision Systems, Process Controls, and integration with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Maintains system availability and works with stakeholders/users to ensure service objectives are met.
- Develops and maintains capital project plans for implementing new and modified control system applications.
- Supports establishing a stable, future-ready digital foundation through integration of shop floor equipment with IT systems.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field and 3 years of work and/or academic experience in automation, engineering, or related discipline.
- (Required experience) 3 years using: Programmable Logic Controllers; Human Machine Interfaces; scripting/structured programming languages; industrial communication protocols.
- (Additional experience) 1 year of work and/or academic experience with: developing/configuring Vision Systems; using Ignition SCADA; robotics programming.
- Experience may be gained concurrently.
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel required.
