Role: Principal Automation Engineer specializing in bulk manufacturing support, providing technical leadership for automation systems critical to GMP-regulated biopharma production. Responsibilities: oversee process control systems (DeltaV DCS, PLC, HMI, PI historian), lead troubleshooting, optimize system reliability and cybersecurity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives; serve as technical lead for automation projects, including system design, vendor oversight, and compliance. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, and IT teams; participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical support. Ensure automation systems meet GMP, data integrity, and validation standards, support change control, and regulatory audits. Qualifications: Bachelorβs in Engineering, Automation, or related field; 5-10+ years supporting automation in regulated pharma or biotech manufacturing; expertise in process control systems, troubleshooting, and project leadership; knowledge of GMP regulations and validation. Preferred: PE license or advanced degree. High-Value: Focus on automation systems supporting upstream, downstream, utilities, and manufacturing support in a regulated biopharma environment.
