Principal Automation Engineer

Role: Principal Automation Engineer supporting cGMP manufacturing processes at Takeda’s Lexington, MA site, focusing on operational, project, and strategic automation system support. Responsibilities: oversee PLC, DCS, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and ancillary data systems for equipment such as bioreactors, chromatography skids, filtration units, and autoclaves; lead technical development, system upgrades, lifecycle planning, and innovation; serve as subject matter expert across multiple platform operations; support large-scale project engineering, vendor management, and industry best practices. Requirements: Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering with 12+ years of experience in large-scale control systems (>100K I/O signals), control system lifecycle, upgrades, virtualization, third-party integrations, cybersecurity, and SOP development; proven leadership in complex automation environments.
