Clinical Research and Development
Responsibilities:
- Develop AAV functional potency assays by transfecting, transducing, and/or engineering mammalian cell lines.
- Develop molecular assays (ddPCR, ProteinSimple Jess) and cell-based assays to assess expression cassettes and AAV potency.
- Develop ELISA and MSD assays to identify novel biomarkers using patient and nonclinical samples.
- Support oversight and review of CRO activities.
- Maintain an electronic lab notebook (ELN) documenting procedures, materials, reagents, and data.
- Independently analyze experimental data and draw valid conclusions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in collaborative cross-program projects; share findings/methodologies and mentor junior scientists.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with regulatory guidelines, company policies, and quality standards; maintain accurate experiment records.
- Communicate progress/results to scientific leads and teams; present updates and interpret complex scientific topics.
Required Qualifications:
- MS in Biology (or related) with 5+ years industry experience, or BS with 7+ years.
- Preferred: Background in Friedreich’s ataxia and mitochondrial biology.
- Proficiency with mammalian cell culture, cell line engineering and/or iPSC differentiation; experience with transfection or AAV transduction.
- Proficient in quantitation of DNA/RNA/protein (ddPCR, qPCR, ProteinSimple Jess, ELISA, MSD).
- Software: Geneious, SnapGene, NCBI, BLAST, Ensembl, GraphPad Prism, Benchling, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills.

- Base compensation range: $110,000–$125,000.
