Principal Analytical Scientist (Automation)

Role: Principal Analytical Scientist leading the design, development, and scaling of automated analytical workflows in QC, supporting biopharma manufacturing at Regeneron’s Rensselaer site. Responsibilities: oversee automation projects across mass spectrometry, chromatography, bioassays, electrophoresis, and ELISA; mentor scientists; conduct studies evaluating automation technologies; troubleshoot systems; develop transfer plans, SOPs, and reports; collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams. Requirements: 8+ years in analytical development, laboratory automation, and QC method lifecycle management; hands-on expertise with automated liquid handling platforms (e.g., Hamilton/Venus, Andrew+, Cellario) and scripting in Python, R, or VBA; proficiency in analytical techniques (mass spec, chromatography, electrophoresis, bioassays). Preferred: PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology; experience in cGMP/cGLP environments; familiarity with automation platforms. WorkSetup: on-site in Rensselaer, NY; Monday-Friday 1st shift; physical lab environment.
