Principal AI Engineer II

Role: Principal AI Engineer II, leading the development and deployment of scalable AI solutions across AbbVie, focusing on strategic architecture, platform engineering, and automation. Responsibilities: define AI engineering strategies, architect secure and reusable AI platforms integrated with AWS and enterprise data; lead end-to-end implementation, from ideation to operational support; establish best practices for testing, monitoring, and compliance including GxP, data integrity, and cybersecurity; collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Quality, Regulatory, and Scientific teams; mentor engineers and promote innovation through emerging technology evaluations and industry engagement. Requirements: Bachelor's in Computer Science, AI, or related field with 8-9 years’ experience in deploying production-scale AI and ML systems, with strong AWS cloud expertise; proven track record in scalable platform design, secure development, and full lifecycle support in regulated environments, preferably pharma or healthcare. Preferred: experience with MLOps, responsible AI, model validation, and enterprise AI governance; contributions to open-source or industry publications.
