Job Description
As a Prevention Specialist–HIV Prevention, represent Gilead products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales by consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets within a specific geographic area. Establish relationships with healthcare practices to provide timely disease awareness information, clinical education updates, and healthcare changes. Synthesize complex clinical concepts to appropriate literacy levels for diverse audiences. Use strong presentation and communication skills with a proven record of interacting with healthcare professionals.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of Gilead and competitor products and in-depth knowledge of disease-state complexities.
- Promote appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals per Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
- Model compliance, behavior, and conduct; demonstrate peer leadership.
- Develop and implement a territory business plan; monitor progress and create action plans.
- Prepare territory budget plans (customer contacts, unrestricted educational grants, speaker events, external expenditures).
- Partner with Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Therapeutic Center Specialists, Marketing, and internal teams; may collaborate with outside partners.
- Identify and resolve issues/opportunities; communicate proactively with marketing and sales management.
- Report adverse events per required guidelines.
- Perform required administrative/reporting tasks (call reporting, expenses, etc.).
- Adhere to regulatory, state/federal/company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
Basic Qualifications
- High School + 9 years’ experience OR Associate’s + 7 years OR Bachelor’s + 5 years OR Master’s + 3 years
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned area
- Ability to meet onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners (may include vaccinations, drug/background screenings)
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS degree
- 4+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience
- Superior selling skills; track record meeting/exceeding sales objectives (ideally specialty markets)
- Previous product launch experience in a competitive environment
