Precision Genomics Data Science Co-op

Role: Data Scientist within the Precision Genomics group, focusing on optimizing DNA genotyping and sequencing workflows through bioinformatics and data science. Responsibilities: perform independent bioinformatic analyses, develop and maintain pipelines/databases for large genomic datasets, generate actionable insights, and communicate findings to diverse stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally with bioinformaticians, data scientists, and engineering teams, reporting to the Analytics & Insights Lead. Qualifications: pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or related field; proficiency in R, Python, and machine learning; strong analytical skills and business acumen. Preferred: 1-2 years with genomics data and machine learning applications. High-Value: focus on genomic workflows, predictive modeling, machine learning, and cross-functional bioinformatics analysis within a biotech or agricultural setting. Work setup: based in Chesterfield, Missouri, with a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
