Postdoctoral Scientist – Neuroscience (Synuclein Biology)

Role: Postdoctoral Scientist in Neuroscience focused on α-synuclein biology within Lilly’s Neurodegeneration Biology group. Objectives include investigating molecular and cellular mechanisms driving α-synuclein aggregation and dysfunction, aiming to understand pathogenic transitions and develop therapeutic strategies. Responsibilities involve designing and executing experiments using biochemical, biophysical, cellular, and iPSC-derived neuronal models to study protein aggregation, including Thioflavin T assays, imaging, and molecular characterization, with a focus on translational relevance. Requirements: PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, or related field; hands-on expertise in protein aggregation biochemistry, mammalian cell engineering (CRISPR, lentivirus); experience with recombinant protein work and cellular model development. Preferred skills include familiarity with α-synuclein structural characterization, advanced biophysical methods, and neuronal imaging techniques. The role is collaborative, involving internal and external scientific interactions, with presentation and publication responsibilities. It is a fixed-term position of up to 4 years, based in Boston with no specified travel.
