Eli Lilly and Company
August 18, 2026
On-site
Boston, MA
Clinical Research and Development
Postdoctoral Scientist (Lilly Gene Therapy) focused on lysosomal biology in metabolic regulation and cellular protection.

Responsibilities:
- Lead design, development, optimization, and execution of LC-MS–based, immunoproteomics, and ligand-binding (LBA) assays to quantify biomarkers of lysosomal health and degradative capacity across peripheral, pulmonary, and CNS tissues.
- Generate/interpret data to characterize modules governing autophagy, cargo receptors, lysosomal biogenesis, and lysosomal lipid metabolism; cross-validate key hits in vitro and in vivo.
- Use lysosomal pathway and metabolic regulatory knowledge to interpret data in a mechanistic/therapeutic context (lysosomal biogenesis; nutrient-sensing signatures).
- Integrate lipidomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic readouts into a “lysosomal health and degradation capacity” framework; link lysosomal lipid/pathway findings to protection against chronic inflammation, neurodegeneration, and pulmonary disease.
- Collaborate on in vivo and in vitro study design; apply sound experimental design; troubleshoot assay/tissue/data variability.
- Identify and validate peripheral/tissue biomarkers; validate lipid/protein markers against human biofluid datasets; maintain documentation.
- Analyze, visualize, and communicate findings via presentations and peer-reviewed publications.

Requirements:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or closely related field.
- In-depth experience developing/quantifying LC-MS/MS-based lipidomics, metabolomics, and/or proteomics.
- Experience with immunoproteomic, ELISA, or ligand-binding assays; PCR/qPCR/ddPCR for transcript quantification.
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time (no visa sponsorship).

Preferences:
- RNA-seq or other transcriptomic profiling; gene-module signature analysis.

Compensation/Benefits:
- Anticipated wage: $58,000–$123,200; company bonus for eligible employees; comprehensive eligible benefits (401(k), health/dental/vision, life insurance, time off/leave, well-being benefits).

Location/Work setup:
- Boston, MA location; daily on-site lab work.
