We are looking to hire several highly talented, self-motivated individuals, passionate about science and interested in transitioning to doctoral programs and ultimately a career in the biopharma industry upon completion of the Amgen Postbaccalaureate Fellows Program. What you will do This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new program that complements a suite of early career talent opportunities in Amgen Research. Participants will form a small group of talented researchers located at our South San Francisco California site. This 2-year program will provide research training opportunities, practical experience, publication opportunities, and professional upskilling, and aims to prepare fellows for entry into competitive doctoral degree programs. Successful candidates will be assigned to a dedicated supervisory mentor and have access to Amgen’s cutting-edge technologies and innovation. Amgen Postbaccalaureate Fellows will be expected to make contributions to support Amgen’s research strategy, including publishing, collaborating and networking with cross-functional colleagues What we expect of you Basic Qualifications: Recent college graduate with major in relevant scientific area such as biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, computational sciences or other STEM fields A strong desire to pursue a PhD or MD/PhD degree in STEM fields Students currently enrolled in PhD, MS, Pharm D or MD programs are not eligible to apply Applicants must be eligible to work in the US and commit to a 2-year program Preferred Qualifications: ·Undergraduate studies completed up to 2 years prior to time of entry into the program ·Practical research experience in a scientific lab setting, such as prior summer internships, is highly desirable ·Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills ·A passion to explore the unknown and make discoveries that will chart new areas of biology What you can expect from us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being. The expected annualized salary for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $50,600.
