Role Summary
Postdoctoral Fellow – Nucleosides/Oligonucleotides Medicinal Chemistry. We are looking for a motivated and creative scientist to join our Medicinal Chemistry team, focused on the novel nucleosides and oligonucleotides for ASO- and siRNA-based therapeutics. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in synthetic organic chemistry and work at the interface of synthetic chemistry and oligonucleotide drug technology and discovery.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute and troubleshoot synthetic organic chemistry routes relevant to the postdoctoral project
- Analyze and interpret results, and present at internal meetings and scientific conferences
- Writing original research manuscripts for scientific publication(s)
Qualifications
- Possess a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry/nucleic acid chemistry, or related fields with 0-3 years of postgraduate training
- Demonstrated expertise to plan and execute multi-step synthesis of complex molecules
- Experienced in modern chromatographic and analytical techniques like TLC, column chromatography, HPLC and NMR to purify and characterize organic compounds
- A track record of scientific excellence and productivity as evidenced by high quality publications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively in a quickly evolving environment
- Ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment
- Have a passion and enthusiasm for working at the cutting-edge of science
- Required to be full-time onsite at Carlsbad, CA

- Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry, nucleic acid chemistry, or related field
