Role: Post-Doctoral Scientist supporting materials and polymer science within Lilly's Technical Services/Manufacturing Sciences, focusing on characterization, evaluation, and qualification of pharmaceutical materials. Responsibilities: conduct independent and collaborative research on materials relevant to parenteral products and drug delivery devices; design experiments to assess material properties and failure modes; develop specifications and control strategies; author scientific reports, protocols, and publications; stay current with industry trends; mentor junior staff; collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams. Requirements: Ph.D. in Materials Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field; demonstrated research experience in materials/polymer science; proficiency in characterization techniques; record of peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations; authorized to work full-time in the U.S. Preferred: experience with pharmaceutical materials, GMP environments, sterilization methods, or biocompatibility assessments; ability to work independently and in multicultural teams; strong analytical and scientific communication skills. High-value: pharmaceutical materials, container closure systems, drug delivery devices, post-doctoral research, biomedical/polymer science, experimental design, technical report writing.
