POSITION SUMMARY
This Position will provide technical support for assigned accounts within Zoetis Pork in MN or northern IA, with regional Upper Midwest territory responsibility.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Call on pork producers, veterinarians, dealers, consultants, and distributor representatives to provide scientific support.
- Provide technical training and education within the Zoetis pork business unit.
- Provide sound technical advice on routine inquiries as a resource to other team members.
- Provide solutions to animal health and production issues based on identifying customer needs.
- Apply veterinary solutions to meet individual customer needs and promote long-term relationships.
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry leaders (veterinarians, nutritionists, extension, university personnel, pork processors, consultants).
- Partner with Area Business Manager(s) to develop and execute the Area Operations Plan.
- Develop strategies for targeted accounts critical to success.
- Create/maintain/execute customer-focused business development plans identifying growth opportunities and allocating budget/resources.
- Contribute to team selling via coordinated call cycles and appropriate follow-up.
- Deliver educational training using presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint) to internal and external audiences.
- Advise Learning and Development on technical training content; provide specialty support as directed.
- Participate in special projects and tactical implementation (e.g., sales material review, new product launch teams, support to Veterinary Medical Investigations and Product Support).
- Provide accurate documentation of activities/customer interactions.
- Manage STOMP diagnostic budget and report diagnostic outcomes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
- Two (2) years post-doctoral experience in clinical practice, academia, research, or industry
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Current knowledge of veterinary medicine and pork production management
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office) and ability to learn internal systems
Preferred:
- 2+ years private practice experience
- Track record of accomplishments; veterinary practice management/strategy execution/leadership
- Good judgment; thoughtful and fair decision-making
- Research experience; published papers
- Strategic thinking/acting
- Extensive knowledge of Zoetis pork products/animal health industry (or ability to learn quickly)
- Ability to influence senior management/peers
- Multilingual (Spanish and English)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to drive to customer locations (producer, clinic, processing facilities)
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
- US base salary range: $106,000.00–$152,000.00
- Eligible for short-term and long-term incentives
- Benefits include healthcare/insurance beginning day one, 401(k) match and profit-sharing, and 4 weeks vacation
