General Summary:
The Policy & Alliance Development Associate Director will support the strategy and execution of US Public Affairs (USPA) activities, with initial focus in pain and kidney areas. Works within Public Affairs and cross-functionally with internal teams (commercial, medical, R&D, legal) to ensure alignment and progress toward corporate goals and objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary liaison to the USPA State Government Affairs (SGA) team on state policy work.
- Support identification of SGA opportunities to advance pain program objectives; generate materials/assets to execute engagements.
- Monitor state legislation to identify policy/political opportunities and risks to the business.
- Lead key USPA pain projects; manage departmental program/process operations to advance policy initiatives.
- Develop project plans, goals, processes, and logistics to gain cooperation and alignment.
- Summarize and create internal communications on program progress, timeline updates, and potential risks.
- Monitor project budgets; communicate forecast variance, risks, and opportunities.
- Compile reports and prepare internal meeting minutes; track action items and manage multi-dimensional tasks.
- Travel: 10–20% anticipated.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 7–8+ years pharmaceutical industry experience; prior experience in patient advocacy, public health policy, government relations (preferably pain environment).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; uses judgment in novel/unusual situations.
- Ability to collaborate and build productive relationships across functions.
- Project management skills; proficient at managing/tracking/measuring.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects while meeting deadlines, budgets, and status updates.
- Strong communication skills; ability to synthesize data into insights.
- Detail oriented with strong project/operations management.
- Comfortable working in areas of uncertainty.

Pay Range:
- $178,000 - $267,000
