Role Summary

Platform Owner – LAN and Automation leads interconnect projects and data-center connectivity, driving automation and cloud integration across enterprise networks. Responsibilities include designing CNF locations, implementing data center interconnectivity (OTV) to enable Layer 2 extension and workload migration, optimizing IP address management and DNS/DHCP strategies, and providing escalation-level operational support for outages. The role requires collaboration across data centers and with ISPs, with up to 10% travel and the option for remote work. Location: Cambridge, MA; Time type: Full time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Interconnect Projects to ensure robust application connectivity across data centers.
  • Implement Data Center Interconnectivity using OTV links to enable Layer 2 extension and workload migration across sites.
  • Support Strategic Data Center Closures by ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption to services.
  • Design and Deploy CNF Locations to establish AWS connectivity via Direct Connect links, enhancing cloud integration.
  • Optimize IP Address Management by reducing overlaps and streamlining network architecture.
  • Finalize DNS/DHCP Strategy by selecting and configuring primary and backup solutions using IPAM/Infoblox.
  • Configure and Troubleshoot Cisco DNAC Analytics to support automation initiatives and improve network visibility.
  • Consolidate WAN Infrastructure by transitioning from legacy SD-WAN to a simplified, future-ready cloud-based design.
  • Provide Escalation-Level Operational Support for critical network outages and high-impact business incidents.
  • Perform Wireless Harmonization by consolidating SSIDs to support advanced robotic connectivity in manufacturing environments.
  • Enhance ISP Connectivity through strategic changes to overlay and underlay designs.
  • Monitor and Analyze Network Traffic using tools like LiveNX, ThousandEyes, and SolarWinds to identify and implement performance improvements.
  • Improve Internet User Experience by securing connectivity with on-premises firewalls (Palo Alto) and cloud-based solutions (Zscaler).
  • Collaborate with ISPs to meet evolving business requirements and reduce latency for improved network performance.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5 years of related experience.
  • Required: Design and implement data center interconnectivity using Overlay Transport Virtualization (OTV) to enable Layer 2 extension and support workload migration.
  • Required: Configure and troubleshoot network analytics platforms such as Cisco DNAC to support automation and performance monitoring.
  • Required: Monitor and analyze network traffic using tools like LiveNX, ThousandEyes, and SolarWinds to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
  • Required: Design and deploy cloud connectivity solutions using AWS Direct Connect to establish secure and high-performance links between on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments.
