Role Summary

Plasma Processor responsible for ensuring the product integrity of plasma units and associated samples from collection to shipment, following SOPs, and maintaining organized storage and donor center functions.

Responsibilities

  • Labels and verifies sample tubes, unit label number, and sample tube label number prior to sampling.
  • Collects all required samples from the unit following ADMA SOPs to ensure sterility is maintained.
  • Places units and samples in freezer within 30 minutes of collection.
  • Completes the entire processing of only one unit at a time to prevent mix ups.
  • Stores units and samples in accordance with SOPs.
  • Accurately and efficiently completes all unit, sample packing, and shipping functions.
  • Physically arranges cases and samples in the freezer to ensure it remains organized for ease of retrieval.
  • Performs quality control of areas and equipment.
  • Obtains back up samples as required for the laboratory or customers.
  • Sets up and readies the collection device correctly.
  • Collects and labels required samples at the donor bedside.
  • Inspects soft goods prior to use to confirm no breakage, kinks, contamination, or particles in solutions.
  • Maintains, handles, and cleans equipment in accordance with manufacturerβ€šΓ„Γ΄s recommendations.
  • Operates the automated collection device as determined in the user manual.
  • Monitors the donor for any sign of reaction before, during, and after plasmapheresis.
  • Disconnects the donor from the automated collection device and ensures the donor is in good physical condition prior to release.
  • Records information in the collection device as prompted and records medical incidents and equipment incident information as applicable.
  • Restocks supplies as necessary.
  • Reports unsafe situations or conditions to the supervisor or center management immediately.
  • Confirms donor identification in Screening.
  • Teaches the donor to use the self-administered questionnaire and assist as needed.
  • Performs donor arm checks.
  • Determines donor vital signs and weight and records results in the donor center system.
  • Determines donor suitability by reviewing responses to the questionnaire and confirming correct answers to donor suitability questions.
  • Defers donors based on donor acceptance and deferral criteria and explains deferrals and time frames to donors.
  • Respects and maintains donor confidentiality regarding donor deferrals.
  • Performs donor total protein readings using a refractometer and records results in the donor center system.
  • Performs donor hematocrit readings and records results in the donor center system.
  • Enters required information into the donor center system.
  • Confirms all required donor suitability criteria and related records are complete and accurate before donor acceptance.
  • Maintains an organized and clean work environment and maintains competence with all position-required tasks.
  • Attends scheduled staff training and meetings.
  • Performs additional duties related to the needs of the business as assigned by management.
  • Performs the function of donor floor technician and other positions as needed per leadership.
