Role Summary
Electrician position at the Saratoga, NY location. This role operates on a Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm schedule and is responsible for start-up, normal operation, monitoring, and shutdown of all electrical systems and emergency generator equipment. The Electrician troubleshoots, performs preventative maintenance, and repairs all facilities electrical equipment, maintaining the site’s electrical distribution to code and ensuring continuous manufacturing of life-saving products.
Responsibilities
- Maintain electrical power system equipment and standby power generation equipment, including emergency generators and uninterruptible power supplies, as well as accurate electrical one-line drawings and panel schedules.
- Maintain inventory of essential fuses, circuit breakers, spare parts, electrical test equipment, and tools.
- Direct outside service providers and junior electricians in electrical maintenance and repair work; assist cross-functional technicians in troubleshooting and issue resolution of facility or process equipment.
- Install and replace lighting, electrical equipment, network and computer wiring.
- Schedule work and maintain preventative maintenance for all on-site electrical infrastructure and equipment, including AC and DC systems.
- Maintain work record documentation in computerized maintenance management system to GxP expectations.
- Perform electrical energized work permits including job safety briefings, checklists, and risk assessments.
- Perform megger, ground-fault, phase-to-phase-to-neutral/ground, phase rotation, transformer turns ratio, infrared, and other inspection and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment; implement temporary protective grounding.
- Perform arc flash incident energy calculations per NFPA 70E; determine restricted/limited approach and arc flash boundaries; develop and perform electrical safe LOTO including authoring LOTO procedures; select and wear arc-rated clothing, equipment and electrical PPE in performance of work per NFPA requirements.
- Attend and maintain required training on electrical safety procedures, powered industrial trucks/lifts, and all GxP training.
Qualifications
- AAS in Engineering or Construction Technologies
- Willing and able to work at the Saratoga location and Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm
- Electrician II: 2+ years or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Electrician III: 5+ years or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Electrician IV: 8+ years or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Relevant experience at the Journeyman level may be substituted for degree
- Experience with high voltage is beneficial

Education
- AAS in Engineering or Construction Technologies

- Ability to work off-shift, call-in, or standby duty to support 24/7 coverage; capable of working in confined spaces; able to lift, push, and/or pull at least 50 lbs
