Phlebotomist

Role: Phlebotomist responsible for specimen collection and patient service at Labcorp's Cary, NC Patient Service Center. Objectives include performing blood draws via venipuncture and capillary techniques, processing specimens, and ensuring data accuracy. Responsibilities encompass specimen preparation, data entry, billing, maintaining logs, providing customer service, and supporting administrative tasks, with travel to additional sites as needed. Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy certification, completed training, or 6+ months experience; ability to pass color blindness test; flexibility for overtime; strong communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently or in teams. Preferred: 1+ year phlebotomy experience. Additional standards include proficiency in handling specimens, minimal supervision capability, and adaptability for schedule variations. High value: role involves direct patient interaction, specimen handling, and quality standards typical of clinical laboratory services, with potential exposure to diagnostic testing environments. Work setup: primarily in-center, with travel required; schedule Monday-Thursday, 7:30 am-4:30 pm, and Friday, 7:30 am-12 pm, including rotating Saturdays.
