Objectives/Purpose:
- Senior scientific, strategic, and technology leadership role in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PharmSci) to shape and advance an integrated PharmSci technology and innovation strategy with emphasis on AI/ML, computational, and in silico-first approaches for CMC applications.
- Identify, prioritize, and accelerate AI/ML and digital opportunities to improve CMC decision-making, development speed, robustness, scalability, and lifecycle outcomes.
- Represent PharmSci in external collaborations/partnerships (e.g., joint steering committees and alliance governance) for data/digital and AI/ML priorities.
Accountabilities:
- Define and maintain the integrated PharmSci technology and innovation strategy focused on AI/ML and in silico-first capabilities across development, industrialization, manufacturing readiness, and lifecycle management.
- Identify high-value CMC use cases for AI/ML, predictive modeling, simulation, and computational approaches (speed, robustness, control strategy, understanding, risk reduction, right-first-time).
- Lead evaluation, piloting, adoption, and scaling of digital/computational capabilities with governance, data foundations, change management, and measurable value realization.
- Ensure scientific rigor and regulatory/compliance awareness for AI/ML/in silico-first approaches.
- Drive portfolio performance management via success metrics and value realization; communicate progress, risks, and opportunities.
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelorβs (22β25+ yrs), Masterβs (19β21+ yrs), or PhD (13β15+ yrs) relevant industry experience.
- Deep end-to-end CMC lifecycle knowledge (development through manufacturing, quality, regulatory).
- Demonstrated expertise in AI/ML, computational modeling, simulation, and/or in silico approaches.
- Ability to translate data/digital/AI-ML opportunities into practical solutions with measurable business/scientific value.
- Proven external collaboration and governance leadership (alliances/JSCs).
- Strong bridge between CMC and technical communities; senior leadership in matrix organizations.
- Business case framing across value, risk, feasibility, compliance, readiness, and scalability.
- Demonstrated change leadership supporting adoption at scale.
