Role Summary

Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist for R&I Primary Care Team in San Diego, CA (South). Responsible for educating healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product profiles to support on-label prescribing and drive sales within the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-depth product and disease state knowledge; educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, indications, and product efficacy/safety to support on-label prescribing.
  • Operate independently with sales proficiency to meet or exceed forecasts and budgets.
  • Complete training requirements, including product examinations.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of market, demographics, and managed care within the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop local strategy and a business plan to increase sales.
  • Leverage formulary approvals and Strategic Targeting Plans using promotional resources and analytical tools to enhance territory effectiveness.
  • Provide educational programs to healthcare providers within AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
  • Coordinate selling efforts with Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists to achieve common objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • A driver’s license and safe driving record
  • 3+ years experience in Pharma or B2B sales highly preferred

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Knowledge of the medical/healthcare/pharmacy industry; experience in Respiratory therapeutic areas
  • Prior sales experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and sound judgment
  • Results-oriented with good time management
  • Ability to learn, analyze, and convey complex information

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
