Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to effectively sell and promote Novo Nordisk’s products to HCPs and other office staff.
- Demonstrate competencies with consistent territory-level impact.
- Understand local payer landscape (Medicare/Commercial/Medicaid), coverage and prescription requirements (including step therapy, coverage gap, copays, deductibles) and how it impacts customer decisions.
- Understand territory customer groups (IPAs, medical groups, health systems, local clinics) to identify opportunities and tailor customer approach.
- Analyze bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status (as applicable).
- Analyze managed care impact on prescribing decisions and modify sales/promotion strategies.
- Develop and use relationships with specialists and key hospital decision-makers who influence purchasing, prescribing, and/or formulary decisions.
- Research and tailor account plans to stakeholders and account practices.
- Develop and execute territory business plans based on market conditions, competitive trends, priorities, and patient needs.
- Build and maintain business-relevant customer relationships (prescribers, support staff, pharmacies, clinic administrators) by collaborating on clinical management and offering approved solutions.
- Use the Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model (pre-call planning, purposeful engagement, solution-based messaging, objection resolution, and calls to action).
- Use analytical tools to evaluate territory opportunities and plan to meet sales goals.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement plans and define roles/responsibilities.
- Control samples/company property per policy and manage discretionary territory and promotional budgets.
- Maintain strong disease-state and treatment-choices knowledge (including competitor products) and clinical study knowledge.
- Participate in/learn from sales and marketing meetings, training, conventions, and displays.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or PharmD required.
- Preferred: 1+ year experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or military.
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); prior sales data/call reporting software experience ideal.
- Self-starter able to evaluate options and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Aptitude for leadership and decision-making.
- Solid understanding of diabetes and obesity therapy areas; ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific disease and product information.

Physical requirement:
- Valid driver’s license; must be in good standing per motor vehicle record points threshold.
