The Position
- Consistently achieves goals and maximizes sales by executing local Sales and Marketing strategies to promote Novo Nordisk products to HCPs (e.g., HEP/GI) and key customers.
Essential Functions
- Drive sales outcomes to exceed goals; seek wins.
- Share key customer insights/trends and collaborate with colleagues/stakeholders.
- Lead team/partner initiatives based on HCP influence across territory geography.
- Identify and leverage customer insights to stay ahead of market trends and developments.
- Productively challenge and influence target physicians’ patient management; add value with new information and insights.
- Leverage understanding of targeted physician customer complexities to maximize performance.
- Apply business acumen and analytical skills to advance the business and deliver results.
- Demonstrate product and disease-state fluency.
- Use an account mindset; understand local market dynamics and adapt to priorities.
- Develop and use business/tailored account plans to meet patient needs and sales objectives.
- Coordinate with other representatives to leverage provider relationships across Endo and PCP segments.
- Execute sales strategies based on customer needs, dynamics, trends, and competitor products/services.
- Maintain required activity records/reports and timely, accurate call data transmission.
- Implement the Novo Nordisk Way selling model (pre/post-call planning, customer engagement, objection resolution, call-to-action/commitment).
- Support launches of new products/programs by aligning targeted physicians and early trial/utilization.
- Generate advocacy by sharing approved clinical/scientific information.
- Tailor approaches using patient-centric methods, guidelines, and chronic care models.
- Exercise prudent control over samples and company property per policies/legal requirements.
- Manage discretionary territory and marketing promotional program budgets.
- Maintain knowledge of promoted clinical studies and appropriate treatment continuum placement.
Physical Requirements
- Valid driver’s license; must be in good standing and not exceed the assigned motor vehicle record points threshold.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or PharmD required.
- Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical, medical, or healthcare experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability.
- Ability to navigate PAs in a rapidly developing market.
- Clinical approach to selling and engaging customers.
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); sales data/call reporting software experience ideal.
- Health Systems and/or Institutional Account experience preferred.
- Knowledge of gastroenterology and/or hepatology preferred.
- Self-starter; able to evaluate options and make decisions with minimal supervision.
