Role Summary

Payroll Specialist at Bristol Myers Squibb. Responsible for accurate and timely delivery of payroll services compliant with organizational and legal requirements, managing vendor relationships, and responding to payroll operations queries. Interfaces with HR Shared Services, Global Expatriate Services, Executive Compensation, Savings Plan & Benefits, and outsourced providers.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll and end-to-end processes.
  • Understand payroll tax as it relates to payroll processing.
  • Provide Tier 2 (detailed) support to inquiries related to payroll.
  • Analyze data to perform master data entries into the payroll system.
  • Communicate effectively with the payroll provider to complete payroll activities and resolve situations timely.
  • Coordinate with payroll provider regarding policies, programs, and processes related to payroll.
  • Collaborate with Savings Plan & Benefits team to understand savings and benefits calculations and their impact in payroll to ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Interface with other People Services departments to proactively identify efficiencies to improve payroll processes.
  • Understand compliance regulations and labor standards.
  • Proactively develop and maintain technical knowledge in specialized areas, staying up to date on trends and best practices.
  • Experience processing payroll for populations of 10,000+ in a multi-state environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years payroll-related experience including time and attendance systems.
  • Experience in a Shared Services environment and with a third-party service provider.
  • Experience with ADP systems, SAP GlobalView, automated time and attendance systems (Kronos, Workday Time).
  • Excel experience with VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • UKG/Kronos time experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years payroll experience; multi-state payroll processing.
  • Experience with time and attendance systems and third-party service providers.
  • Proficiency in ADP, SAP GlobalView, Kronos, Workday Time, and Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
