Patient Educator Senior Manager - WEST (field-based; Western Region; reside in Los Angeles or San Francisco metro areas)
Responsibilities
- Execute commercial brand strategy and tactical plan within a local market in coordination with Marketing and Advocacy.
- Participate in territory/division/regional planning; provide input on local market decisions and resource needs.
- Provide group and 1:1 education to patients, caregivers, and advocacy organizations on SCD/TDT and Vertex gene therapy at approved live programs, conferences, and community events.
- Conduct community/patient educational needs assessments; provide feedback on existing education and resources.
- Provide insights to inform marketing strategies and development of patient marketing materials.
- Maintain deep understanding of SCD and TDT disease states, patient experience, barriers, and care pathways.
- Document interactions appropriately and compliantly; model company values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years relevant experience in clinical care, healthcare/patient education, social services, and/or biotech/pharmaceutical.
- 2+ years field-based biopharmaceutical experience preferred.
- Experience/knowledge of rare diseases (SCD and/or thalassemia) preferred.
- Trusted relationship-building with patients/caregivers; empathetic, accessible, meaningful education.
- Strong communication skills (presentations and clear written communication).
- Ability to work independently and partner across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Track record delivering results; comfortable in ambiguity and complex environments.
- Strong organizational/project management skills.
- Integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to compliance/ethics.
- Ability to travel up to 70% (some weekends).
- Strong digital fluency.
Pay Range
- $136,000 - $204,000
- Eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards.
