Patient Access Liaison – TEPEZZA (Rare Disease)
Responsibilities
- Provide logistical, non-medical educational assistance to patients/caregivers and site-of-care staff (physicians, nurses, office managers, executives).
- Educate patients on TEPEZZA coverage, benefits, and steps for prior authorization; provide support to gain access to therapy.
- Secure written/electronic patient HIPAA for assigned geography.
- Develop relationships with patients/caregivers via phone, text, email, virtual, or in-person.
- Provide co-pay assistance, national foundation, and free drug program information as appropriate.
- Educate prescribers and sites of care on enrollment, coverage, prior authorization requirements, and coding/billing.
- Provide access and reimbursement education to physician offices and sites of care.
- Investigate access challenges pre- and post-infusion (e.g., denied claims/claim reviews).
- Partner with Safety/PV and report AE’s and product complaints through medical information.
- Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to improve patient access and ongoing compliance.
- Adhere to professional standards and federal/state/local requirements.
Qualifications
Basic: Doctorate + 2 yrs (patient services and/or access/reimbursement) OR Master’s + 4 yrs OR Bachelor’s + 6 yrs.
Preferred: Scientific background; nursing/clinical background; buy-and-bill access/reimbursement experience; orphan/rare disease experience; HIPAA & FDA familiarity; OIG/Compliance adherence; handle difficult cases; team communication; respond within 24 hours when needed; strong analytical skills; Microsoft Office; strong written/verbal communication; up to 50% travel.
