Patient Advocacy
Patient Access Liaison (PAL) – Field-based patient access and reimbursement specialist supporting patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and sites of care with insurance coverage and reimbursement pathways.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for patient access and reimbursement for infused and specialty therapies.
- Assist patients/caregivers/providers with insurance benefits, prior authorization, and reimbursement processes.
- Identify and resolve access challenges (coverage questions, prior authorizations, denied claims).
- Educate on coding and billing considerations for therapy access.
- Engage patients/caregivers by phone, virtual, and in-person; assess needs and provide access education/resources.
- Obtain patient HIPAA authorization within assigned geography.
- Educate patients on coverage and steps to obtain prior authorization.
- Provide co-pay assistance/foundation/free drug program information when appropriate.
- Educate physician offices and sites of care on coverage pathways and reimbursement processes.
- Support infusion centers/providers with reimbursement questions for patient cases.
- Investigate access challenges before/after infusion; support review of denied claims and next steps.
- Escalate complex/systemic reimbursement issues to internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, and Site of Care teams; share payer policy/reimbursement insights.
- Adhere to compliance guidance and applicable federal/state/local regulations; align with HIPAA privacy requirements.
- Report adverse events/product complaints via pharmacovigilance; maintain accurate internal documentation.

What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications (Level 5)
- Doctorate; OR Master’s + 2 years; OR Bachelor’s + 4 years; OR Associate’s + 8 years; OR High school/GED + 10 years (patient services and/or access/reimbursement).
Basic Qualifications (Level 6)
- Doctorate + 2 years; OR Master’s + 4 years; OR Bachelor’s + 6 years (patient services and/or access/reimbursement).

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with buy-and-bill/infused therapies; rare disease/orphan drug.
- Clinical background; knowledge of prior authorization, appeals, denied-claims management.
- HIPAA/FDA regulatory knowledge; internal/OIG compliance familiarity.
- Analytical/problem-solving; strong written/verbal communication; stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage complex patient situations; cross-functional field team experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, AI, and relevant systems.
- Travel up to 50% (occasional overnight/weekend).
