Patient Access Liaison (PAL) — field-based patient access and reimbursement specialist supporting patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and sites of care with insurance coverage and reimbursement for Amgen therapies.

Key Responsibilities
- Patient Access & Reimbursement: Support infused and specialty therapies; help navigate benefits, prior authorization, and reimbursement; resolve access barriers (coverage questions, prior auth issues, denied claims); educate on coding/billing considerations.
- Patient/Caregiver Engagement: Phone/virtual/in-person support; obtain HIPAA authorization; assess needs and provide access resources; educate on coverage and prior authorization steps; share co-pay assistance/national foundation/free drug info as appropriate.
- Provider/Site Education: Educate physician offices and sites on coverage pathways and reimbursement; explain common prior authorization requirements, coding and billing practices; support infusion centers with reimbursement questions.
- Access Issue Resolution: Investigate access challenges before/after infusion; help review denied claims and identify next steps; escalate complex/systemic issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, and Site of Care; coordinate resources; share payer policy/reimbursement insights.
- Compliance/Operational Excellence: Follow applicable regulations; ensure HIPAA-aligned activity; report adverse events/product complaints; maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications
Basic (Level 5): Doctorate OR Master’s +2 yrs OR Bachelor’s +4 yrs OR Associate’s +8 yrs OR HS/GED +10 yrs in patient services/access/reimbursement.
Basic (Level 6): Doctorate +2 yrs OR Master’s +4 yrs OR Bachelor’s +6 yrs.
Preferred: Buy-and-bill/infused therapy experience; rare disease/orphan drug; clinical background; reimbursement knowledge (prior auth/appeals/denials); HIPAA/FDA/OIG compliance familiarity; analytical/problem-solving; strong communication; handle complex cases; cross-functional field teams; proficiency in MS Office/CRM/AI; coding & billing awareness; patient support program knowledge; rapid response; matrix environment.
