Patient Advocacy
The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field-based role providing education and reimbursement support to adult and pediatric patients and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for patients/caregivers for disease state, product, and therapy access/administration questions.
- Build and maintain relationships via in-person and virtual interactions.
- Assess individual needs and create plans of action using approved resources to empower advocacy.
- Provide individualized, approved education on disease state and product.
- Educate patients on insurance coverage and the process to obtain therapy.
- Conduct medication administration education once coverage is established.
- Provide information on affordability resources.
- Maintain long-term relationships with patients and care teams using a tailored communication plan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams; partner with Patient Advocacy.
- Partner with Patient Safety/Pharmacovigilance and Complaint Management to report AEs and product complaints.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Up to 50% travel (including overnight and some weekends).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; at least 5 years in direct patient support; ability to explain disease state, product, and access/reimbursement concepts at a consumer level.
- Clinical/Allied Health degree/licensure preferred; at least 5 years clinical experience in pediatrics, endocrinology, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, or related.
- Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Preferred: orphan/rare disease launch experience; experience educating patients/caregivers on injectable administration; experience navigating reimbursement obstacles.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA, and OIG compliance guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proactive, adaptable, autonomous.

Compensation
- Annual base salary: $185,000–$190,000.
