The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field-based role providing education and reimbursement support to adult and pediatric patients and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for patients/caregivers for disease state, Ascendis products, and therapy access/administration questions.
- Build and maintain relationships via in-person and virtual interactions.
- Assess patient needs to create an action plan using approved resources to support advocacy.
- Provide individualized education on disease state and product; educate on insurance coverage and how to obtain therapy.
- Deliver medication administration education once coverage is established.
- Share affordability resources as needed.
- Manage long-term relationships with patients and care teams via tailored communication plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams; partner with Patient Advocacy (attend symposia as needed).
- Partner with Patient Safety/PV and Complaint Management/Quality/Compliance to report AEs and product complaints.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Up to 50% travel (including overnight; some weekend travel).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 5+ years in a direct patient support role; explain disease state, product, and access/reimbursement concepts at a consumer level.
- Preferred: Clinical/Allied Health degree/licensure + 5+ years clinical experience (pediatrics, endocrinology, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, or related).
- Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Preferred: bilingual; experience launching orphan/rare disease products; educate on injectable administration; patient education with reimbursement obstacles.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA requirements, and OIG compliance guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; proactive and capable of autonomous work; ability to respond to evolving needs.

Compensation
- Base salary: $185,000–$190,000.
