The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field-based role providing education and reimbursement support to adult and pediatric patients and caregivers to help ensure timely access to therapy.

Responsibilities:
- Primary point of contact for patient/caregiver education on disease state, Ascendis products, and therapy access/administration.
- Build relationships via in-person and virtual interactions.
- Assess individual needs and create an action plan empowering advocacy using approved resources.
- Provide individualized education on disease state and product; educate on insurance coverage and obtaining therapy.
- Conduct medication administration education once coverage is established.
- Provide affordability resource information as needed.
- Maintain long-term relationships with a tailored communication plan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams; partner with Patient Advocacy and attend patient education symposia as needed.
- Partner with Patient Safety/PV and Complaint Management/Compliance to report AEs and product complaints.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations/standards.
- Up to 50% travel (including overnight; some weekend travel), including visits to patient homes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree + at least 5 years in a direct patient support role; ability to explain disease state, product, and access/reimbursement concepts at a consumer level.
- Preferred: Clinical/Allied Health degree/licensure + at least 5 years clinical experience in pediatrics, endocrinology, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, or related.
- Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Preferred: bilingual; orphan/rare disease product launch experience; experience educating on injectable administration; experience navigating reimbursement obstacles.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA requirements, and OIG compliance guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; proactive and capable of autonomous work; adaptable.

- Base salary: $185,000–$190,000 (plus potential company car/car allowance and commissions/bonus where applicable).
