Role: Patient Access Liaison (PAL)
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary point of contact for patients/caregivers for education on disease state, Ascendis products, and therapy access/administration.
- Build and maintain relationships via in-person and virtual interactions.
- Assess patient needs and develop action plans using approved resources to support patient/caregiver advocacy.
- Provide individualized disease state and product education using approved resources.
- Educate patients on insurance coverage and the therapy access process.
- Provide medication administration education as required once coverage is established.
- Share information on affordability resources as needed.
- Manage long-term relationships with patients and care teams using tailored communication plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams; partner with Patient Advocacy and attend patient education symposia.
- Partner with Patient Safety/PV and Complaint Management Quality/Compliance to report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Up to 50% travel, including overnight; some weekend travel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree and 5+ years in a direct patient support role; ability to explain disease state, product, and access/reimbursement concepts at consumer level.
- Preferred: Clinical/Allied Health degree/licensure; 5+ years clinical experience in pediatrics, endocrinology, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, or related.
- Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Preferred: bilingual; experience with orphan/rare disease product launches; experience educating on administering injectable products; experience navigating reimbursement obstacles.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA requirements, and OIG compliance guidelines.
- Ability to work autonomously, communicate cross-functionally, respond to evolving needs, and demonstrate strong interpersonal/written/verbal communication.

Base Salary: $185,000β$190,000. Some roles may include car/car allowance and commissions/bonus.
