The Patient Access Liaison (PAL) (field-based) provides education and reimbursement support to adult and pediatric patients and caregivers, helping guide patients through insurance, coverage, and reimbursement while supporting safe, appropriate therapy initiation and correct product use.

Key Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for education on disease state, Ascendis products, and therapy access/administration questions.
- Build and maintain relationships with patients and caregivers via in-person and virtual interactions.
- Assess individual patient needs and create a plan of action using approved resources.
- Provide individualized disease state and product education using approved resources.
- Educate patients on insurance coverage and the therapy access process.
- Provide medication administration education once coverage is established.
- Share information on affordability resources.
- Maintain long-term relationships via a communication plan tailored to patient and care team needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams; partner with Patient Advocacy.
- Partner with Patient Safety/Pharmacovigilance and Complaint Management/Quality/Compliance to report AEs and product complaints.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Travel up to 50% (including overnight; some weekend travel).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 5+ years in a direct patient support role; ability to explain disease/product and access/reimbursement concepts at the consumer level.
- Clinical/Allied Health degree/licensure preferred; 5+ years clinical experience in pediatrics, endocrinology, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, or related.
- 2+ years pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Preferred: product launch experience for orphan/rare diseases; ability to learn detailed product/disease info.
- Experience educating patients/caregivers on administering injectable products.
- Experience with reimbursement obstacles.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA requirements, and OIG compliance guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; proactive, professional demeanor; can work autonomously and adapt to evolving needs.

- Base salary: $185,000–$190,000.
