Pathologist Assistant I (Thurs - Mon, 5:30am to 2:00pm)

Role: Pathologist Assistant I supporting pathology operations within a biopharma context, primarily assisting in tissue dissection, specimen review, and histological evaluation for molecular analysis. Responsibilities include reviewing pathology reports, macro/microdissection of tumor and normal tissue, assessing tumor content, and performing quality control tasks, including CISH stain evaluation. The role involves organizing slides, data, maintaining laboratory procedures, and supporting regulatory compliance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a biological, chemical, clinical, or medical laboratory science, with relevant certification (e.g., ASCP, AAPA) or MD; 0-1 year of experience, with preferred advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) and 3-5 years of relevant lab experience. Key skills include attention to detail, manual dexterity, microscopy, and knowledge of lab information systems. High-value specifics: supports molecular pathology, histology, and microdissection tasks in a regulated GxP environment, with potential exposure to biohazards and chemicals. Physical demands include prolonged standing, fine detail discrimination, and handling hazardous materials. Training includes safety and compliance, with ongoing education requirements. Travel and work outside regular hours may be required. The position reports to the Supervisor - Pathology Operations and involves collaboration with pathology and molecular teams in a laboratory setting.
